Jerrel Helms Obituary
He was born on March 13, 1951, in De Queen, Arkansas. He was a cattle and chicken farmer and a pastor for over 50 years. He was a member and pastor of the Old Time Gospel Church. He enjoyed working on his ranch.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvin and Flossie Mattingly Helms; one son, Michael Brent Helms; one brother, James Roy Helms; and one sister, Barbara Easley.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Anne Phillips Helms; one daughter and son-in-law, Scarlette and JD Jones; two grandchildren, Autumn (Mason) Jester all of Lockesburg, and Kinleigh Helms of De Queen; two great grandchildren, Bentley Jester, and Ryleigh Jester of Lockesburg; one sister, Patsy Skelton of DeKalb, Texas; two brothers, Billy Joe Helms of Ashdown, Arkansas, Dwight Helms of Texarkana, Arkansas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Helms will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, in the Old Time Gospel Church in Lockesburg, with Bro. Billy Keener officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lockesburg, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home in De Queen.
