Billy Chester Potts

Billy Chester Potts, age 77, husband of Sandra Bennett Potts, and a resident of Culleoka, Tennessee, passed away on Friday morning, September 13, 2024, at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 2:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Johnson officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Potts Cemetery in Santa Fe. A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
A native of Maury County, Tennessee, Billy was born on April 2, 1947, and was the son of the late Claude and Lola Kelley Potts. He was a graduate of Santa Fe High School, Class of 1966. On December 20, 1968, he married the love of his life, Sandra Bennett, with whom he shared a devoted and loving marriage for over 55 years. Together, they were blessed with three children, Chasity, Dana, and Daniel.
Billy spent several years working in maintenance at The Factory in Franklin. Outside of work, he had a passion for fishing and squirrel hunting. Billy was a die-hard University of Tennessee Vols football fan who loved to share stories with friends and family. Above all, he was a dedicated husband, brother, and father who deeply loved his family and cherished every moment spent with them. Billy was a member of Elmore Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Chasity (Steve) Griffin of Culleoka, TN, Dana (Tim) Harris of Culleoka, TN, Hugh Daniel Potts of Hampshire, TN, sister, Linda (Mike) Wall of Santa Fe, TN, and grandchildren, Kristen (Dylan) McCord, Hayden Harris, Peyton Harris, Dylana Harris (Noah Fitzgerald), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Betty Mae Potts, Margie Lancaster, Janice Burgett, Cecil Potts, J.B. Potts, Tommy Potts, Jerry Potts, and Donald Potts.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Scotty Dial, Hayden Harris, Peyton Harris, Richard Peach, Peyton Calvert, and Jeffery Potts. Micky Peach, Robert Wall, and Tim Stanfill will serve as honorary pallbearers.
