Mr. Billy "Bill" Gene Ready, Sr. a resident of Bogalusa, LA passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at the age of 88. Bill was a co-owner of Ready Realty and was also in the service station business for many years, where he serviced cars and was always willing to go the extra mile. He was known lovingly as "Big Hearted Bill Ready". Bill was also an avid golfer in his spare time. He was also a member of Highland Baptist Church. Bill loved the Lord, his wife, children, and grandchildren - they were the joy of his life.
Bill is survived by his wife, Vivian Barlow Ready of Bogalusa, LA; his sons, Billy G. (Larke) Ready, Jr. of Purvis, MS, Bobby L. Ready of Port Vincent, LA, and K. Bradley (Marnie) Ready of Poplarville, MS; his grandchildren, Christopher (Brittney) Bond, Amanda (Brantley) Oursler, Mallory (Brandon) Anderson, Clayton (Cleo) Ready, Whitney (Joshua) Marchan, Robert (Adriana) Ready, Hannah Ready, Presley Ready, and Ty Ready; nine great grandchildren; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including two special nieces who have gone above and beyond during their Uncle Bill's illness, Janice Augustine and Sylvia Penton.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Philliph Eugene Ready and Lillian Elizabeth Smith and his daughter in law, Lollie Ready; two brothers, Arthur Lee "Jack" (Mildred) Boyd and Earl Edward "Pete" (Myrtle Jo) Ready; and two sisters, Malouise (Charles) Miller and Katie (Jack) McNabb.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 30, 2023, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. until time for the services at 12:00 P.M. with Rev. Billy and Bobby Ready officiating the services. Interment to follow at Garden of Peace in Ponemah Cemetery.
