Billy Ray Rippy

Billy Ray Rippy left this world March 26, 2025, at Charlton Methodist Hospital in Dallas Texas. Billy was born September 22, 1951, at Madonna hospital in Denison, Texas. He grew up in Denison and Pottsboro Texas. He graduated from Pottsboro High School in 1970. During his High School years, he participated in Basketball, Baseball and Track. After High School he was employed at Johns Manville, then later joined the US Navy. After discharge from the Navy, he held various positions including working at the VA. He eventually settled in Dallas, Texas.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseshoes, Chess, Pool, and Puzzles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Rippy; stepmother, Jennie Rippy; his mother, Betty Wilson; stepfather, Chester Wilson; brother, Gordon Rippy; sister, Jennie Rebecca (Charlie) Hawthorne and stepbrother, David Melton.
He is survived by his son, Nathan Harper; sisters, Sharon Futrell, DeDe Eldridge and spouse Kevin, Melinda Ford, Dee Ann Anderson and spouse Duane; sister-in-law, Delores Rippy; brother, Chester Wilson and spouse Timber; and stepbrother, Steve Melton and spouse Claudia.
The family would like to thank Williamsburg Village Nursing Facility and Custom Care Hospice for their care and support.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Fisher Funeral Home Chapel.
