Mr. Billy Joe Spivey, age 72, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory with burial to follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens in Simpson County, KY.
Billy was born on January 8, 1953 in Franklin, KY to the late Arlo B. Spivey, Sr. and the late Cora Gladys (Neal) Spivey. He is also preceded in death by 11 siblings, Linda Seabolt, Ann Carter, Helen Clayborn, Maggie Groves, Mable Redferin, Diane Wix, Roger Spivey, Ramey Spivey, George Spivey, Jackie Spivey and Arlo Spivey, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years Connie Spivey, of Franklin, KY; 1 daughter, Kate Cooke (James) of Franklin, KY; 1 grandson, Lex Cooke of Franklin, KY; 2 sisters, Betty Jo Hodges (Danny) of Portland, TN and Wanda Tate (Max) of Cross Plains, TN; Several nieces and nephews.
Billy was a Scottish Rite Mason and Shriner. He loved to fish, watch University of Tennessee football and loved to be with his family, especially his grandson.
