Billy Joe Yeager, a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on January 19, 1946, Billy brought joy and laughter to all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
Billy was a man of simple pleasures, finding immense joy in the great outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and pheasant hunting. He could often be found playfully harassing friends on the phone, his infectious laughter a reminder of the bonds he treasured. For Billy, no autumn Saturday felt complete without watching the University of Oklahoma’s football team take the field, nor did spring pass without cheering on the OU softball team.
He leaves behind a loving family that includes his wife, Elaine Yeager, and their son, John David Yeager. Billy is also survived by his brother, Calvin Dean Taylor, nephew, Kenny Hastings, and a host of family and friends who extend their hearts and memories of shared experiences.
Billy's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Jules and Doris Yeager, sister, Donna Hastings, and brother-in-law, Chester Hastings.
Billy Joe Yeager will be remembered not only for his passions and interests but also for the warmth he brought into the lives of those around him. As we honor his memory, let us hold on to the laughter, the stories, and the unbreakable bonds of family and friendship that he nurtured throughout his remarkable life.
