Bird Andrew Bice, 77, found peace and returned home to his Heavenly Father and beloved family members on July 21, 2024. He was born on April 6, 1947, to Earlis Toy and Luella Bice in Evanston, Wyoming.

In a prior marriage, he had seven beautiful children. On July 19,1999, he married the love of his life, Lynell Gertge. Together, they blended their families, adding Lynell’s three children.

He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1972. He was a Marksman, earning a Purple Heart and Medal of Honor for his bravery. After his military service. Bird had multiple jobs, finding his career with Qwest for 34 years, retiring in 2005. His career was dedicated to helping people connect.

To know Bird was to love him. He sought out opportunities to help and serve others, bringing kindness to the world around him. He loved working with his hands and could fix or build just about anything. His jokes and infectious belly laugh brought joy to those around him. We would like to acknowledge and show gratitude for the gift of his close friends.

Bird loved the outdoors and enjoyed the mountains through camping, hunting, and watching the sunrise with his sweetheart. He was a true Wyoming cowboy at heart, loving ranching, horseback riding, and driving tractors.

Later in life. Bird and Lynell became avid cruisers, sharing this enjoyment with Lynell's parents. The four of them spent many wonderful years of retirement seeing the world together. They cruised with their best friends Joseph and Neilene Gertge.

Bird is lovingly remembered by his wife, Lynell Bice; his children, Brittani (Michael) Linder, Melanie (Thomas) Schatzel, Monica (Adam) Bay, Jared Bice, Justin (Erin) Bice, Alaina (Kylir) Horton, Shaylee Rodriguez, Blake (Kimber) Rosenbaum,Alyssa (Drew) Sanders, and Jeffrey (Rena) Hart; many grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
