Birdie Shaw Warren, 31, was born on April Fool's Day of 1994 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She died October 1, 2025 in Ridgeland, Mississippi. She considered herself a native of Pike County, and lived most of her life in McComb.
Birdie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jack and Linda Hays, her beloved Daddy, Rev. Richard Wayne Warren Sr., her brother Richard LaMont, her sisters Brandy Rogers Warren and her truest confidant, Shaunda Scaife. She was also preceded in death by her very best friend Andy Crumpton.
Birdie is survived by, and deeply loves many. Some of the most important include her treasured Mama, Constance 'Connie' Hays Warren, her "Bubba" - Clayton Elijah Warren and his wife Jessica, her brother Shane Scaife, her aunt and uncle Jennifer and Zane Farling, her cousins Kacie and Jordan Bond (and his family), and Bryan, Connor, Austin, and Cassie Hays, her Aunt Judy Linton and her uncle Keith Bond. She is also survived by dozens of friends who made her life worth living, and the men who have served as her father figures Chris Holmes, Mike Prestridge, and Keith Crumpton. She asks that if you know any of these people, you hold them close.
Birdie graduated from North Pike High School in 2012. She was involved in school and was an avid reader and good scholar. Often Birdie said later in her life that her joy for teaching was sparked in the classroom of Erin Fortenberry. Much of her free time was spent practicing martial arts. She treasured her summers, and the opportunity to volunteer at Camp Sunshine. She attended a few different colleges, but graduated from Southwest Mississippi Community College, where she enjoyed her time. Birdie always had a passion for working with children, and teaching, and spent the majority of her professional years in education. She frequently said that the opportunity to teach, love on, and pour in to God's children was the highest honor she ever received.
Birdie was a proud member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Jackson, where she served in children's ministry. She loved her church family and was profoundly grateful for the acceptance and compassion she received there. So many of her happiest memories happened at St. Philip's.
Birdie was also a proud and grateful member of Alcoholics Anonymous for nearly half of her life. A.A. and its people were her home. She was deeply grateful to be of service when she could to the program that gave her everything she had.
Birdie tried hard to show love to all she knew, and to make people laugh. That is how she hopes she is remembered.
