Kay Ladd Obituary

Kay Weathersby Ladd transitioned to her heavenly home on October 5, 2025. An illness of many years had left her homebound for the past two years. She was surrounded by loved ones who are left to cherish her memory. Kay was born January 1, 1952, to Shelton Weathersby and Marie Valentour Weathersby in Jackson, Mississippi. Special memories were made growing up in West Jackson. She had lifelong friends from Provine High School and Robinson St. Baptist Church..
After attending Hinds Jr, College, she began a 30 year career with the City of Jackson. Having been hired as a buyer for the purchasing department, she retired as an Inventory Controller. Following her retirement, she worked for her cousin Cindy Walsh in her interior design business and then for The Diabetes and Endocrine Center. At that time her illness progressed and she had to discontinue working. Being a member of Clear Branch Baptist Church in Florence, she regretted she was unable to attend the last few years.
Kay is survived by her daughters Lacey Cheatham(Eric), and Kelsey Ladd(Leon). She adored her grandchildren, Riley and Jesse Cheatham, and Cayden and Jayden Smith. Also surviving are her siblings, Sonny Weathersby(Tricia) and Linda Clark(Kenny), and several nieces, nephews that she loved as her own.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Traditions and Arden Hospice Services, especially Patricia, Asha and Quala.
