Nita passed away Friday, February14, 2025, at UMMC in Jackson. She was born on November 15, 1936 in Cascilla and was the daughter of the late Curtis Easley Milam and Catherine Mitchell Milam.
Nita was employed by Pennaco Hosiery Mill as an inspector until her retirement. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Grenada.
Nita was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Billy Pryor, Herbie Newcomb, and Benny Smith; her son, Herbie Newcomb, Jr.; one sister, Kay Hubbard; and three brothers, Curtis Milam, Jr., Jerry Milam, and Johnny Milam.
She is survived by her son, Robert Earl Newcomb and his wife, Betty; two grandchildren, Rob Parker and Charity Newcomb Burkett, and five great-grandchildren.
Mortimer National Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
