Blair Lee Minning, age 73, of Portage, Ohio passed away at home on Friday, August 16, 2024. Blair was born on December 7, 1950, in Perrysburg, OH to Paul and Ruth (Bauman) Minning. Blair married Margaret "Peg" Miller who preceded him in death in April of 2000. Blair found love again and married Kathleen Gilsdorf in June of 2002 in Portage, OH.
Blair had a Master's Degree in Education, teaching History and English at the Middle School for Lake Local Schools before he retired. He enjoyed the outdoors: gardening, hunting, fishing and traveling. Among his favorite pastimes was playing with his dogs and cats.
In addition to his wife Kathleen, Blair is survived by his brother, William (Sharon) Minning. Nephews: Tim Minning, Jim (Katie) Minning, and 4 great-nieces and nephews. Step daughters: Julia (Brian) Schmidt, and Amy (Kurt) Necker. Step grandchildren: Aleah, Kyle, Logan, and Benjamin. Step great-grandchildren: Violet, and River. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret "Peg", and his parents.
Family and friends will be received for visitation from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., on Friday, August 23, 2024, at the Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 110 West Main Street, Luckey, Ohio. Immediately following the visitation Blair will be laid to rest in Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury, OH.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to: A local Humane Society of the donor's choice. Those wishing to express a word of encouragement, share a memory or photo may do so at www.marshfuneralhomes.com
