Blake Ryan Helmers

Blake Ryan Helmers, 46, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on December 24, 2025, due to health complications.
Born on April 28, 1979, in Fargo, North Dakota, Blake was the cherished son of Verlin "Butch" Eugene Helmers and Cynthia "Cindy" Jean Cumberland. From an early age, Blake stood out for his sharp mind, quick wit, and natural curiosity-qualities that shaped every chapter of his life.
Blake proudly served in the United States Marine Corps as an Aviation Ordnance Technician, carrying the values of loyalty, honor, and service with him long after his time in uniform. Before pursuing higher education, he built a strong foundation in the hospitality industry, spending many years at The Keg Steakhouse, where he established many friendships and his work ethic and leadership began to shine. After his military service, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management from Arizona State University and an Associate of Arts in Journalism. He went on to build a successful career as a Supply Chain Manager for Boeing, where his intelligence, analytical skills, and creativity earned him admiration and respect.
Known for his dry yet hysterical sense of humor, Blake had a gift for making people laugh without effort. He loved both playing and watching sports-especially golf, football, baseball, and basketball. A talented and creative writer, Blake's natural intelligence made numbers and learning come easily to him.
Above all, Blake's greatest joy in life was being a father. He shared two beloved sons, Alec and Owen, with Jolene Garrow, and they were the center of his world. Every moment spent with them was his happiest. He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his mother, Cindy Cumberland; his father, Butch Helmers; his sons, Alec and Owen Helmers; his brother, Brandon Helmers; his sister, Kjersti De Lind, and her husband, Erik De Lind; his nieces, Kierra and Kaelea Hrenchir; his stepsister, Beth Cumberland; and his grandmother, Rosalie Mae Helmers.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 23rd at 11:00 AM at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary and Cemetery, located at 6500 East Bell Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85254. A livestream & recorded link will be provided for those unable to attend in person.
