A Celebration of Life informal gathering, officiated by Shawn Burch, will be held for Blake Mitchell, 20, on Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 3-5 pm at The Summit of Bossier City, 5400 E. Texas St, in Bossier City.
Blake Peterson Mitchell, of Benton, LA, was born June 10, 2003 in Shreveport and passed away unexpectedly on November 14, 2023. Blake was a 2022 graduate of Benton High School and was a member of the Benton Boys Soccer Team where he formed lifelong friendships with many teammates. Blake enjoyed traveling with his family and friends, playing soccer with his buddies, fishing, boxing, and spending time with his family & friends. Blake had a great sense of humor, always greeted his parents & grandparents with a hug, and loved animals, especially his dogs, Dixie & Sally. He was a Christian and loved his family & friends deeply.
Blake is survived by his parents, Kerry & Debbie Mitchell, triplet brothers, Carter & Drew Mitchell, Grandparents, Lt. Col (Ret) Al & Barbara Peterson, all of Benton, Uncle, Sean Peterson (Kimberly), Aunt, Shelly Robertson of Nashville, TN, Cousins, John Peterson & Holland Peterson, of Shreveport, and Haley Miller, of North Carolina, Great Aunt, BJ Butler (who was more like a grandmother)(Boyce), of Destrehan, Great Aunt, Katherine Freeman, of Logansport, Great Uncle, Norrell Thomas Jr. (Tommie), of St. Augustine, TX, Great Aunt, Jerry Barron, of Frierson, and numerous 2nd & 3rd cousins and close friends.
Blake was an amazing son, brother, grandson, and friend who was loved beyond measure. While we are devastated by Blake’s passing, we are thankful for the outpouring of support and kindness we have received from our dear friends and family. We are so proud of Blake and are thankful for the 20 years we had with him. Although gone too soon, we will hold dear to our hearts the beautiful memories we have with Blake. Until we see you again, our precious Blake.
