Blake Edward Morgan went to be with his Lord on November 4, 2025, following a brief but courageous battle with an undetected and aggressive form of cancer. Surrounded by love, he received compassionate and expert care from the dedicated physicians and staff of the Memorial Hermann Hospital System.
Blake was born to Karen and John Morgan on December 2, 1980, in Lafayette, Louisiana-starting life as a true Cajun. At two and a half, he moved with his parents to Richmond, Texas, where he began his early education at Calvary Episcopal School. When Blake entered second grade, the family relocated to Midland, Texas, where he attended Santa Rita Elementary and Abell Junior High. In seventh grade, another move brought the Morgans to Katy, Texas, where Blake proudly became a lifelong Katy Tiger, attending both Katy Junior High and Katy High School. He graduated with the class of 1999.
Blake was active in sports throughout his school years, playing soccer, basketball, baseball, and football- and excelling in each. He was a proud member of the 1997 Texas State Championship Football Team at Katy High School and still holds the record for the most home runs in a single season for the Katy Tigers baseball team.
Blake was equally dedicated to his education, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University, a Master of Science degree from the University of Houston, and later a Master of Business Administration from Lamar University. He applied his education and
expertise throughout his career with Bechtel Group in Houston, contributing to major projects around the world, including large-scale LNG and lithium mining construction.
Blake was a devoted family man who deeply cherished his wife, Cari, his high school sweetheart. The two were married in 2006 in Katy, Texas, and built a beautiful life together. They were blessed with two wonderful children, Maci Lynn (15) and Cole Edward (13), who were the light of his life. Nothing brought Blake greater joy than spending time with his family and friends- the moments when he was truly happiest.
Blake was passionate about sports, especially football and baseball. He also loved spending time outdoors- whether hunting, fishing, or grilling by the pool with family and friends. Known for his dry wit and belief that every one of his jokes was funny, Blake brought laughter wherever he went. He was a loyal and dependable friend to all who crossed his path. Most importantly, Blake loved the Lord and was a member of Southstone Church in Katy.
Blake is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Cari; his two beloved children, Maci and Cole; his parents, John and Karen; his mother-in-law, Dianne Cahill; sisters-in-law Karen Cahill (Autumn, Devon, & Levi) of San Antonio, and Aaryn and Joey Fuda (Anderson, Emilia, & Camilla) of Katy. Blake is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, all whom he held dear to his heart.
A celebration of Blake's life will be held at 11a.m. on Wednesday, November 12th at Southstone Church, 1507 Katy Flewellen Rd, Katy, TX 77494. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the
American Cancer Society or the Lung Cancer Research Foundation.
