Blanche Gleaton Obituary

Mrs. Gleaton was a native of Jacksonville and born on March 11, 1929 to the late Forest Wilson Davidson and Julia Ann Williams Davidson.
She was a Charter Member of Dunns Creek Baptist Church and loved sewing and quilting and made a quilt for all of her grandchildren. She also loved cooking, baking and cake decorating and made many wedding cakes for her family members. Her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Gleaton was preceded in death by her husband: Wilmer Dean Gleaton; 5 sisters: Florence York, Margaret Douberly, Edith Douberly, Ruth Cannady and Eloise Garrison; 3 brothers: Rev. James Davidson, Herbie Davidson and Ed Davidson; daughter: Julie Gleaton and 2 grandchildren: Jennifer Chapman and Greg Byrd.
She is survived by 3 children: Ronald (Belinda) Gleaton; Eric (Donna) Gleaton and Donna Jean Dudte; sister: Sue Baldwin; brother: David Davidson (Gale); 6 grandchildren: Lisa (Anthony) Adkins, Wayne Gleaton, Paul Vaughan, Travis Vaughan, Bobby Gleaton and Shelly (Mike) Steed; 8 great grandchildren; 17 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 19, 2025 at Dunns Creek Baptist Church, 1425 Starratt Road, with Rev. David McRee and Rev. Dave Malmberg officiating.
Burial will follow in Eubanks Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday at the church, prior to the service.
Peeples Family Funeral Home is serving the Gleaton Family.

i will miss Aunt Banty, she always help me as well as others. if she could do someting fo you she would.
she was definitely loved, i loved her after i married into the family. she always treated me like family.
i will miss her her and will always remember her kindness tiwards me.

So very sad to know of your loss,BD was, and always will be, a pillar of this community. Her kindness and genuine Christian love for folks will always be remembered as an example of what the Lord wants us all to be like. She will be sorely missed here, but, She will be forever alive in Gods Heaven and on the New Earth to come.
