Donald C. Roberts

Donald C. Roberts, 77, entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on January 12, 1948, in Starke, Florida, to the late Charlie C. Roberts and Elmyra Smith Roberts. He lived in the Jacksonville area for most of his life and was a graduate of Andrew Jackson Senior High. He also attended Bible Baptist Seminary in Texas. He had a long career at Merita Bread and was a retiree of Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Mr. Roberts' favorite past times through the years have been playing football and softball, enjoying church activities, teaching Sunday school, and he was an avid fan of watching his grandchildren play sports.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Roberts. He leaves behind his wife of 55 years: Barbara Roberts; 2 children: Chuck Roberts (Priscilla) and ReDonna Nelson (Bob); 5 grandchildren: Heather Taylor (Austin), Hannah Trapp (Riley), Hallie Roberts, Donald Nelson and Shelby Nelson; 1 great-grandson: Reid Trapp; sister: June Carter (Kenny); brother: Jimmy Roberts (Tammy); sister-in-law Linda Roberts; close friends: Jim Mosley and Dwayne Glover; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church, 4040 Dunn Avenue, officiated by Pastor Joshua Paynter. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or the Gideons International. Arrangements are under the care of Peeples Family Funeral Home.
