Blane Adams

Blane Adams departed this world on Friday, April 4, 2025, just days shy of his 71st birthday at Missouri Baptist Hospital. Blane was born on Friday, April 9, 1954, and spent his life in Desloge, where he was a cherished member of the community.

Blane was a graduate of North County High School Class of 1972. He dedicated 47 remarkable years to the City of Desloge, serving as a heavy equipment operator. He began his career with the street department before transitioning to the water department, where his wealth of knowledge made him a vital resource for his colleagues and superiors alike. His profound understanding of both the above and underground infrastructure of Desloge endeared him to all who worked with him. As one of his superiors aptly noted, “His mind is a vault of information,” underscoring the invaluable contributions he made to the city.

Blane was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Stella (Arnold) Adams; half-brother, Thomas Ketcherside.

In addition to his dedicated service to municipal government, Blane was a former member of the Desloge Fire Department as a volunteer fireman and served in the auxiliary with the Desloge Police Department, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of his fellow citizens. When he was not at work, he could often be found driving around town surveying the community he loved.

Blane is survived by a brother, Lance Adams & family, along with numerous friends and beloved co-workers.

Visitation will be held at C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 9:00 AM until service time of 11:00 AM with Pastor Michael Barton officiating. Burial to follow at Saint Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in memory of Blane to Mineral Area Community College.
