JONESBORO - Bobby Darrell "Bob" Justus, 89, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2026, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.
He was born on Aug. 8, 1936, in Smithville to the late Eli and Flossie Justus. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he worked in Signals Intelligence as a Crypto Operator. He served his entire military career in Germany, an experience that remained deeply meaningful to him throughout his life.
Following his military service, Bob helped build the local C.L. Swanson Branch in Jonesboro. He dedicated many years to the company and retired as Vice President, leaving a lasting legacy of leadership, integrity, and commitment.
In his fifties, Bob fulfilled a lifelong dream by learning to fly. He purchased his own airplane and used it for both work and recreation. Flying was his true passion, and he loved anything related to airplanes. In his free time, he also enjoyed playing golf with his close friend, Gordon Metzgar.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kyle Justus; his brother, Harrell Justus; and his infant sister, Renee Justus.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janet Justus of the home; his sons, Scott Justus of Jonesboro and Blake Justus of Bentonville; his sister-in-law, Margaret Justus; his sister-in-law, Patricia DeHaven; and his brother-in-law, Bill Potter, who was more like a best friend and brother.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Wiggins for his exceptional care over the years and for making each visit so memorable. He and Bob shared a special bond through their mutual service in the United States Air Force, which meant so much to Bob. The family would also like to thank the staff of the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House for their compassionate care and unwavering support. All services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.
