Robert "Bob" Lesche, 84, of Beltsville, MD, left this life on Friday, May 16, 2025. Born on December 22, 1940 in Corning, New York to the late Heinz and Alice Lesche. Bob attended Northside High School in Corning, graduating in 1958.

It was during this time where he met the love of his life and wife of 63 years, Deanna. After graduating, he attended Yale University for 3 years and then enlisted in the United States Army. During his assignment in Germany, he and Deanna welcomed their first daughter, Debbie.

Bob was discharged in 1964, obtaining the rank of E5. Upon leaving the army, he and his new family settled in Maryland. He attended the University of Maryland, College Park earning a bachelor's degree in accounting in 1965. He also obtained 2 master's degrees, one from Florida Atlantic University and the other from Regent University.

Settling in Beltsville in 1972, Bob and Deanna welcomed their second daughter, Merri.

After graduating, Bob would go on to have a career as a licensed CPA. He started with the firm Ernst & Ernst and then with his own firm, Feddeman, Lesche, and Tate.

Following the end of his career as an accountant, Bob started a new career. In 1997, he began his new life as a math teacher at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt. His summers were spent teaching summer school at DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville. He finally retired in 2020 after 23 years of teaching.

A man of deep faith and passion, Bob had several interests. For many years, he and Deanna were involved in First Players, the theater group at their church, First United Methodist in Hyattsville. He will always be affectionately remembered for the roles he played in their many performances. Sports were also a passion of Bob's. If he wasn't attending a Redskins or Nationals game, he was watching it, meticulously keeping score during every game.

Bob loved all things sweet, particularly ice cream and his sweetheart, Deanna.

Bob will be remembered for his deep commitment to his faith. And it is in this faith that we know that, while heartbroken, we can seek solace in knowing that he has been welcomed into the loving arms of God.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Deanna. Daughters Debbie Clarke and Merri Hardy (Corey). Grandchildren Joe Clarke (Victoria), Michael Clarke, Crystal Clarke and Lauren Hardy. Great grandchildren Chloe, Adrian, Natalie, and Jake Clarke, and Gavin (Genavee), Liam, and Reese Tester. Sisters Virginia Green and Nancy Kirchmyer (Jim). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by his son-in-law, Brian Clarke, and his grandson, Sean Clarke.
