Robert Emmett Malcom, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025. He has requested cremation without services. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services is caring for the family.
He was born July 6, 1943, to Robert and Francis (Bowers) Malcom in Charleston, South Carolina. After graduation, Bob enlisted in the United States Navy where he served with honor for nearly 14 years. Once a civilian, Bob continued to work for the Federal Government as an electronics technician. He had three children from a previous marriage before he met and married his love match, Jeannine Johnson. They raised two children together while moving from one end of the country to the other for the next 49 years.
Bob was described as a very charitable man. He'd buy lunch for a stranger, or put them up for the night, without a question. He loved gardening, especially flowers, exploring the country, and camping in the mountains. Bob loved all kinds of animals. He even enjoyed snuggling with a little duckling at Easter.
Surviving this loss is his wife, Jeannine; children, Erin (Tori Trembath) Malcom, Shannon Malcom, James, Kenneth, and Jennifer; grandchildren, Oliver, and Noah, Sam, and Bryan; brother, Dennis Malcom; siblings-in-law, Glenn, Lori, and Dayle (Mike); and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; an infant granddaughter, Emily; brother, Dale Malcom; and Jeannine's parents.
Bob's family would like to thank the staff at Hallmark Care Center in Mt. Vernon, Iowa and Essence of Life Hospice for loving care that they provided for Bob.
