Bobbie C. Stirnichuk, 88, of Penitas, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at the home of her nephew in Mooreland. She had just moved from Texas to New Castle this past weekend. She was born on September 7, 1937, in Durham, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Calvin Rex and Julia (Wiggs) Welsh. Bobbie was a 1955 graduate of Zion-Benton Township High School in Illinois. She and her husband, Walter, operated Easy Go Charters, a charter fishing company on Lake Michigan from 1974 to 1995, where Bobbie served as First Mate. Bobbie retired from A.S. Hansen in 1987 after 21 years of employment. She was also a Realtor with Ed Blachaniec Realtors in Waukegan, IL from 1991 to 2004. Bobbie and her husband loved traveling and did so extensively all over the world, wintering in Florida and Texas. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors and gardening. Bobbie loved the Lord and was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church in McAllen, TX. Those left to cherish Bobbie's memory include a sister, Joy Thomas of New Castle; a brother, Rex Welsh of Mt. Vernon, WA; a sister, Debbie Koetz of Pleasant Prairie, WI; and many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews. In addition to her parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Walter Stirnichuk, in 2019; two sisters, Nancy (John) Davis and Julia (Merrill) Bakk; brothers-in-law, Don Herrman and Jack Thomas, and a sister-in-law, Elaine Welsh. A private burial will take place at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, Illinois. The Sproles family and staff are honored to serve the family of Bobbie C. Stirnichuk.
