Bobby Wayne Capps, age 67 of McEwen, TN, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 31, 1956 in McEwen, TN to the late Thelma and Archie Capps. Bobby proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. Bobby enjoyed horse endurance racing, caring for his horses, drag racing and dirt bike riding. He raced at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch 4 times. Bobby will be remembered by his family as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 8 years, Veralyn Capps of McEwen, TN; daughters; Tina Dorton (Casey) of Hickman Co., TN; Amber Talley (Demetre) of Dickson, TN; Savannah Smith (Kimberly) of Birmingham, AL and Cortney Rowe (Michael) of McEwen, TN; son, Derek Capps (Janza) of Dickson, TN; grandchildren, Garrett, Alec, Addie, Tristan, Gracie, Aubrey, Ally, Katie, Jayden, Cameron, Jackson and Houston; brothers, Jimmy Capps, Glenn Capps and Barry Capps; and sister, Rita Scarborough (Chuck).
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Thelma and Archie Capps.
A visitation for Bobby will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Luff-Bowen in Waverly beginning at 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M and also on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at 11:00 A.M. Officiating will be Bro. Jeremy McFarlin. Interment to follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers are Ryan Johnson, Tristan Johnson, Garrett Petty, Jayden Elliott, Michael Rowe and Aaron Rowe.
