CLAYTON – After a while of battling health challenges, Bobby Gene Capps, 81, went on to his eternal rest on September 2, 2023. The Johnston County native was born to the late William Waties and Estelle Underwood Capps. Bobby honorably served his country in the United States Army for 4 years. After his service, Bobby found joy in walking and exercising. He loved dogs, and more so, the beach. Above all, Bobby loved his family and his church. The times they shared will leave cherished memories for years to come. In addition to his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Capps, George Capps, Joe Capps, Junior Capps, Charles Capps and Robert Capps, his sister, Joyce Marie and his brother-in-law, Tex Medlin.
He is survived by his son, Chris Capps (Amy) and his sister, Mary Medlin.
The family requests donations be made to the SECU Hospice House of Johnston Health, located at 426 Hospital Rd., Smithfield, NC 27557.
