O B I T U A R Y

Bobby Dyrell Compton of the Liletown Community, son of the late Harry Woodson Compton and Katherine Hash Compton, was born on Friday, April 5, 1946 in Metcalfe County and departed this life on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at his home. He was 79 years, 4 months, and 1 day of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Community Baptist Church. He worked as a carpenter and brick layer. He was best known as "Pa Bobby" by his family and friends who he loved dearly. Pa Bobby was a country boy at heart, starting from riding dirt bikes in his youth, to becoming a master fisherman and hunter.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Janey Buckner Compton of the Liletown Community, having united in marriage on December 21, 1996.

Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Greg and Kim Ervin of Liletown; two grandchildren: Lexi Ervin Engler and her husband, Collin of Russellville, and Lane Ervin of Liletown; a great-grandchild: Owen Engler of Russellville; special family: Darryl Young, Wayne Thompson, Lile Thompson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant brother.

The funeral service for Bobby Dyrell Compton will be conducted at 3 P.M., Central Time, Saturday, August 9, 2025 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with cremation to follow. Bro. Neal Price officiating.

Visitation is requested after 10 A.M., Central Time, Saturday at the funeral home until time of the service.

A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at 3:00 P.M., Central Time, at Liletown Cemetery.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Community Baptist Church Youth Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
