Bobby Jarrell Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 12, 2025.
Bobby Jarrell passed away at 87 surrounded by loved ones on November 4, 2025. He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Jarrell of 61 wild years, who passed away in 2020.
He is survived by 6 children - Jeanie, Bobby, Patricia, Joyce, Laney, Robert and daughter in-law Valerie whom he thought of like a daughter. 13 grandchildren - Cristian, Carmen, Vreni, Sasha, Sarah, Brian Simpson, Marc, Jonathan, Kristi, Angela, CJ, Kurt and Courtney - 14 great-grandkids. His sister in law Joyce Ann - Niece Patsy and her husband Kurt - Extended family Casey Compton, Tammy Fletcher and Phil. And countless other friends and family.
He was born in West Virginia but like a rolling stone he moved all across the country. He was the youngest of 8 kids. After serving 8 years in the Army he became a truck driver and owned a moving and storage business as well as numerous other businesses.
He never met a stranger, everyone he met in his life became his friend. He would do anything for others and no wasn't something he said often. He was a hard worker, good friend, great dad, granddad and great grandad.
After driving trucks for over 40 years he was a walking GPS - so many drivers called him almost everyday to get directions and pick his brain. He knew every road across the continental USA including what exit and mile markers of the destination he was asked about.
He owned a race car and his son Robert and grandson Brian were his drivers and family members as the crew. He loved racing. He was a fixture at Langley Speedway in the 90s.
He loved his western movies and knew every single one. His favorite stars were John Wayne and Audie Murphy. He would tell stories of his weekends as a young boy going to the movies and was captivated by western movies that continued his whole life.
He often spoke of how amazing his life was and what a wild ride it's been. He told many stories that we will keep among ourselves to laugh and remember him by. He said he lived life to the fullest and only wished he had a bit more money at the end but still took chances and left no stone unturned.
To all that knew and loved him, our hearts have dropped. The world has lost a good one. He travelled these roads with a smile and great pride. He now drives the highways of heaven with his wife Shirley by his side. He will be missed here always and forever.
