Bobby Joe Matheny II, 42, of Ridgely, Tennessee died on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Baptist Hospital in Union City, Tennessee.
Born February 8, 1980 in Dyersburg, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Bobby Joe Matheny and Dorothy Mae Decker Matheny White (Ricky). Mr. Matheny was a janitor at Lake County High School. He will be remembered for his kindness and the friendship that he always showed to all that he met.
Funeral services for Mr. Matheny will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 13, 2022 in the gymnasium of Lake County High School in Tiptonville, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Rev. Chuck Graham. Interment will follow in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely, Tennessee. Visitation will be held Sunday from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM in the gymnasium of Lake County High School.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Dorothy Mae Decker Matheny White (Ricky) of Ridgely, Tennessee; three sisters, Brandy Evans (Alan Shirley) of Obion, Tennessee, Amanda Haynes (Dusty) of Florida, and Samantha Matheny of Newbern, Tennessee; one brother, Reid Yates (Elizabeth) of Tiptonville, Tennessee; four uncles Ernest Decker, Ricky Decker, John Decker, and Larry Decker; two aunts, Becky Dunn and Judy Decker; nieces and nephews, who he loved dearly, Layla Evans, Carson Davidson, Hunter Evans, Anna Evans, Cameron Evans, Anna Reed Yates, Cooper Yates, Harper Yates, Ryan Yates, Noah Robertson, Mason Robertson, and Dawson Robertson; second mother, Suzanne Stone Atchison of Tiptonville, Tennessee and special friend, David Keefe of Tiptonville, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Joe Matheny.
Honoring Mr. Matheny as pallbearers will be Jimmy Dale Snyder, Mike Moore, Jamey Beal, Cliff Berry, David Hugh Keefe, Wade Devasier, Zac Cagle, and Jacob Barker. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Lake County High School.
