Bobby Joe Rothert

Bobby Joe Rothert, 65, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:13 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at his residence.

Born May 25, 1960, in Seymour, he was the son of the late Richard Rothert Sr. and Hattie (Monday) Rothert.

Bobby was a 1978 graduate of Jennings County High School and retired in 2017 from Lowe's Distribution Center in North Vernon after 17 years of service. He had also worked for 8 years for Mascotech. Bobby was a former member of AMA Hobby Hawks Flying Club where he once served as the president. He enjoyed flying RC planes, riding his Harley Davidson, watching Colt's football, being outdoors, and going to air shows.

He is survived by his daughter, Heather (Jeff) Raby of North Vernon; sisters, Vicki (Charlie) Foga and Debbie Carman, both of North Vernon; and Linda (Tim) Cline of Deputy; grandchildren, Madison (Drew) Goins of Greensburg, Cayden (Payton) Raby, Breylan Raby, Kiptyn Raby, Keagen Raby, Gracelyn Raby, and Emerson Raby, all of North Vernon; and great-grandchildren, Enzo Goins and Everett Goins, both of Greensburg and Nova Bishop-Raby of North Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Richard Rothert Jr. and Denny Ray Rothert.

A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with David Neal officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be at the funeral home on Monday, March 2, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until the start of the service.

Memorials may be made in honor of Bobby through the funeral home for funeral expenses.
