Bobby Lee Shively

Bobby Lee Shively, forever 39, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022. He was born the son of the late Alvis B. Shively and Essie Gillispie Shively. Bobby was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. A retired Fire Chief of Ferrum Fire Department with 55 years of service and lifetime member of the Ferrum and Rocky Mount Rescue Squad. He loved his community and friends. After his retirement from cabinet builder he continued working at Ferrum College. He was a member of Maple Grove Church. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Marie Shively; three children, Darryl Shively (Lisa), Angela Campbell (Chad), Velvet Meeks (Jerry); grandchildren, Brandon Meeks (Amanda), Tiffani McDearmon (Ben), Matthew Campbell, Gabriel Campbell, Levi Campbell; five great grandchildren; sister, Diane Smith (J R); brother, James Shively; sister-in-law, Georgia Brown; brother-in-law, Johnny Fox; many very special nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 2, at the Ferrum Fire Department, 9626 Franklin Street, Ferrum, VA with Rev. Jim Calhoun and Dr. William (Billy) Shively officiating. Inurnment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ferrum Fire Department, P.O. Box 69, Ferrum, VA 24088.
