Bobby L. Shrader, 71, of Marengo, Ohio passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born on September 29, 1952, in Bluefield, West Virginia to his parents William and Jane (Atwell) Shrader. Bobby served in the U.S. Navy as an electrician during the Vietnam War. He later made a career for himself as a factory laborer for both Worthington Cylinders and International Paper. On May 4, 1973, Bobby married the love of his life Sandra (Stewert) Shrader. Together they shared 50 full and loving years.
Bobby leaves to cherish his memory his wife Sandra Shrader; daughters Barbara (Ivan) Shrader and Aimee (Ed) Workman; mother Jane Shrader; sisters Jenny (Randy) Chapman and Debbie (Danny) Huddleston; grandson Layne Burson, and great nephews Michael and Jeffery Ramey. Bobby joins in rest his grandparents Virginia K. "Granny" and Cliff Davis; father William Shrader; sister Kathy Cantrell; and nephew Shane Chapman. He will be dearly missed.
Bobby was a hardworking, family man. His family was his pride and joy. He loved his wife, his daughters and his grandson more than anything in the world and he made sacrifices in his life in order to take good care of them. He was also a man of his community. He rarely knew a stranger and any that started out being, they were his friend by the end of their meeting. He was a social butterfly and never shied away from a conversation.
Outside of his family and work, Bobby had simple but classic interests. He was good with his hands, putting them to good use in his woodworking endeavors. He loved to attend and participate in dirt track racing events. To a more leisurely effect, he liked to visit flea markets both to look and to shop. But his most fulfilling activity was taking his beloved family on vacations.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Morrow County Hospice doctors, nurses, and staff for their genuine care and professionalism during these final hours. As well the Veterans Administration of Columbus Ohio for their advocacy and attention to Bobby during his life.
Arrangements were made with Snyder Funeral Homes, DeVore Chapel. Service times to be determined.
