CHURCH HILL – Bobby Eugene Slagle, 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2025, with his wife Judy by his side after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
Bobby was born on January 30, 1945, in Bristol, VA. He attended Holston Valley High School and worked for the Kingsport Press for several years until they closed in 2002. Bobby was saved in 2019, and that prepared him for his Heavenly home where he will experience no more pain and is healed. Bobby loved old cars, and joking around and he will be remembered for his humor and his ability to always make everyone laugh.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Daisy (Frazier) Slagle; and his brother-in-law, Jimmy Gentry. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Judy (Bishop) Slagle; son, Randall Slagle (Vickie); brothers, Garry Slagle (Teresa), Jim Slagle (Anita), and Freddy Slagle (Mary); sister, Barbara Gentry; grandchildren, Brittinee Hawley (Gabe), and Lindsey Slagle; great grandson, Luka Hawley; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to say special thanks to the staff at NHC in Bristol for their love and care.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Elm Springs Cemetery with Rev. Mike Webb officiating. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:00 PM to go in procession to the cemetery. Friends are welcome to stop by their residence anytime to pay their respects.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Elm Springs Cemetery in c/o Frank Marsh, 337 Adam Street Church Hill, TN 37642.
