Bobby Wayne Vidler, Jr., affectionately known as Bobby to his friends and loved ones, was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew him. Born on June 13, 1963, in Cleburne, Texas, Bobby's journey on this earth came to an unexpected end on June 11, 2025, in Round Rock, Texas, just shy of his 62nd birthday. His life was a testament to the power of faith, laughter, and kindness.
Bobby was the cherished son of the late Bobby Vidler, Sr. and Lillian Vidler. His loving presence will be profoundly missed by his devoted wife, Pam Vidler, his daughter, Lindsey Sweet and his son, Brandon Sweet. He was an adored grandfather (PawPaw) to Sophia, Samuel, and Olivia DeLaRosa (father Robert DeLaRosa), who will carry the torch of his legacy forward. His mother-in-law, Kitty Lowrey, father-in-law, Ken West, and Ken's wife, Judy will remember Bobby as a kind, loving, generous man. Sister's-in-law, Patti Kirshner, Ginger Creswell, Leah Creswell, Debbie Morgan, and nieces, Lilly and Eva Morgan will miss Bobby's amazing sense of humor and occasional pranks. His cousin Allison Holtman and husband, Andy and cousin, John Barham have many wonderful memories of Bobby growing up together.
A graduate of Mary-Hardin Baylor with a Bachelor's Degree in Education, Bobby dedicated his career to teaching within the Windham School District under the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. His passion for education and his commitment to his students left an indelible mark on countless lives. Bobby's Christian faith guided him in his vocation, and he often shared his beliefs through his daily lessons. Retiring from teaching after 26 years, Bobby continued making a significant impact on others by working with CASA of the Highland Lakes in 2018, becoming the Program Manager in 2019. He was employed there up until his death and will be deeply missed by the co-workers that meant so much to him.
Bobby was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Kingsland. Over the 22 years there, he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and most recently, as an Elder. The leadership and wisdom he provided will be profoundly missed by his church family.
Bobby's interests reached beyond the classroom; he was an avid collector of antiques and unusual items, often found at auctions, antique stores, and estate sales. He and Pam shared this interest and enjoyed searching for shops in every town they visited. His collection was more than a hobby; it was a mosaic of history and storytelling that he delighted in sharing with others.
Those who knew Bobby would describe him as faith-filled, generous, and kind. He had an amazing sense of humor and a unique ability to infuse humor into any situation, easing burdens and brightening days. His faith was the cornerstone of his existence, providing strength and comfort to him and to those around him. His kindness was evident in his everyday actions, touching the lives of family, friends, and strangers alike.
As we celebrate Bobby's life, let us remember the joy, the wisdom, and the love he brought into our world. His spirit, characterized by humor, faith, and kindness, will continue to inspire and guide us. Bobby's earthly journey may have concluded, but his influence will forever resonate in the hearts of those he touched. Let us honor his memory by living out the values he held dear, and by finding strength and joy in the love he so freely gave.
