Bobby Walls Obituary

Bobby Ray Walls, 93, of Newport News, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 14, 2024. He retired from the Department of VA Veterans of Foreign Wars as the Virginia State Quartermaster. Prior to that, he worked many years in the automotive business. As an avid golfer, he spent his retirement working at The Deer Run Golf Course. He was known for his welcoming spirit and loving hugs and cherished the time with his family. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Bobby served his country as a United States Marine. He was an active lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Bobby served as Post Commander, District Commander and All American State Commander.
Bobby is survived by the Love of his Life, wife of 71 years, Doris Eanes Walls; his sons, Gary Walls (Beth), Ken Walls, Scott Walls (Debbie); his daughters, Joyce Crowder (Mike), Cindy Klein (Willard); 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers and 6 sisters along with many other family and friends. Bobby was 1 of 17 siblings.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Temple Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the church by Rev. Wes Taylor followed by a reception at 12:00 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Baptist Church, 235 Harpersville Road, Newport News, VA 23601. Weymouth Funeral Home will be assisting with the arrangements.
