Bobby "Steve" Stephen Welch, age 73, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at his home.
Steve was born on September 10, 1949 in Richlands, VA and was the son of the late Arthur K. and Ann Colley Welch. He served in the United State Armed Forces in the Army during Vietnam. Steve worked most of his life as a coal miner and retired being a very talented machinist for Heintzmann Corporation and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a devout Christian. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shelby Welch Cordle.
He is survived by:

Son: Mark Welch of North Myrtle Beach, SC
Daughter: Janeen Welch of North Myrtle Beach, SC
Stepdaughter: Amanda Hale Honaker and husband, David of Cedar Bluff, VA
Grandchildren: Janessa Bryant, Timothy Puckett and wife, Rhianna; Hunter Allison, Jonah Overstreet; Ethan Honaker, Katie Honaker, Laura Honaker; and Aaron Honaker and wife, Mandy
Five Great Grandchildren
Brother: Rev. Jerry Welch and wife, Gudrun of Richlands, VA
Several nieces and nephews
Special pet; Buddy

Funeral services for Bobby "Steve" Stephen Welch will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 27, 2023 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia with Rev. Don Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Timothy Puckett, Ethan Honaker, Brian Welch, David Honaker, Mark Short, and Russell Hylton. The Casey-Shortt VFW Post #9640 will conduct military services. The family will receive friends from 12-2 pm on Friday afternoon at the funeral home. Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia is in charge of arrangements and those wishing to express sympathy online may do so at www.hurstscottfuneralhomes.com
