Bonita Marie (Langteau) Yost, age 83 of Prairie du Chien, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Prairie Maison in Prairie du Chien. She was born in Taylor County Wisconsin on October 16, 1941 the daughter of Roy and Helen (Boxrucker) Langteau. Her parents moved to Colby Wisconsin where she attended St. Mary s Catholic Grade School and graduated from Colby High School in 1959. She attended the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire where she met her future husband, Fay Yost. They were married at St. Mary s church in Colby on August 8, 1964 and moved to Medford, Wisconsin where Fay had a job teaching high school math. Bonnie worked as a reporter for the Star News, a local newspaper, for 26 years. She worked on a committee to run and raise funds to support a home for domestic violence victims in Medford. She enjoyed gardening and had beautiful large Mower beds in her Medford home and later in Prairie du Chien. Her love cooking and trying new dishes over the years resulted in several binders full of hundreds of recipes. Bonnie and her husband traveled extensively during the 1980s and 1990s including England, several European countries, Turkey and Morocco. Her favorites were Italy and cruising the Greek Islands. Bonnie and Fay often traveled between Christmas and New Year s. After spending Christmas with family they would spend a few days in a large city in the south for a break from winter. After Fay retired they sold their house in Medford and built a new home in Prairie du Chien. They did most of the interior work with Fay doing the carpenter work and Bonnie doing the sanding and finishing. After the house was done they spent several winters in Florida at Panama City Beach. Bonnie is survived by her husband Fay, a brother in law John Yost, his wife Vicky and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

According to Bonita's wishes, there will be no formal funeral services at this time. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be given to Prairie Maison or ovarian cancer research.
