Bonnie Joann (Sutton) Ban of San Jose passed away on the evening of Saturday, February 18, 2023 after battling cancer for just over two years. She held on for a little longer than what the doctors had told her, and was surrounded by loved ones up to the very end. She is survived by her husband of nearly 51 years, Richard Ban, as well as her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings. She would have been 80 years young at the end of February. Bonnie was born in Louisiana, Missouri (which, as we all know, is pronounced 'Missoura'), to Lonnie Sutton Sr. (Deceased) and Hazel Pauline (Deceased) Furlano, and was one of seven children; Lonnie Sutton Jr. (Deceased), Paulette Estes, Leon Sutton, Cindy Zimmerman, Chuck Furlano, and Connie Schoonmaker.
Known and loved for her famous Chinese Chicken Salad, guacamole, and artichoke dip, it has been said that the moment you stepped foot in her house, you would gain 10 pounds of love. You never felt unwelcome or unloved, and you certainly never left feeling hungry. Though she may have been a tiny lady, her personality was big enough to fill the room and spill out the windows. We will miss that playful smile, warm hug, large personality, and the many television marathons.
