Bon (Bonnie) Jeanette Buie was born on March 21, 1937, in El Paso, Texas to Forrest and Katherine White. She grew up in a loving home, with two sisters and a brother, where they were all bonded by their deep love for family and faith.
When Bonnie was young, the family moved from El Paso to Fort Worth where her father worked in the leasing transportation business. She graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1955. Bonnie then attended college at North Texas State University in Denton where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. In 1970, Bonnie married Kenneth Buie and made their home in Hurst, Texas. Bonnie and Kenneth owned and operated Buie Electric, where she was the VP/Business Manager and her husband was President. Later in life, they sold their electrical contracting business and raised hundreds of ostriches. They decided to completely retire and purchased their dream home in Lake Nocona.
Bonnie and Ken moved to Lake Nocona in 1997, where they made many great friends. They were active members of the Nocona First United Methodist Church. Bonne had many interests in her life. She enjoyed volunteering at the nursing homes and doing activities with the residents. She was an avid sports fan of both collegiate and professional football and loved the Dallas Cowboys. Bonnie and her husband also loved to travel. Her greatest passion in life was her love for reading. In her life, she read thousands of books. Both she and her husband were members of the Texas Ostrich Association and the Tangle Foot Dance Club.
Bonnie is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Patsy & Bill (Lake Granbury); daughter, Cheryl Buie Whiteside; and two grandsons, Derrick and Alec (Nashville); and by many nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Buie; her mother and father, Katherine & Forrest White; her sister, Mary White Singer; and by her brother, Jim White.
A Celebration of Life Service be held at 11 A.M., on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Wiley Funeral Home, 400 Highway 377 East, in Granbury.
Burial will be private.
