Bonnie Combs Obituary Bonnie Jean Combs of
Warsaw, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the age of 83.
Bonnie was born on July 22, 1942, in Springfield District, Hampshire County, West Virginia, to Mary May (Nicely) Shanholtz and John Shanholtz. She was a 1960 graduate of Romney High School and later earned a certificate from James Rumsey Vocational School in Business Administration and Keypunch in 1967, and a Florida teacher's license.
On January 30, 1961, Bonnie married the love of her life, Cleo Marshal Combs. They shared 58 blessed years of marriage before he passed away on February 15, 2019.
Bonnie was known for being a hard worker and also for her fun sense of humor. She dedicated her life to her family and a long, varied career that demonstrated her sharp mind and adaptability. Her professional journey included working as a Keypunch Operator for the IRS and Inventory Control for Westinghouse. She later worked in Outpatient Registration in Florida, taught kindergarten at Deltona Christian School, and was the office manager for Mike Sulpizio Trucking. She and Cleo co-owned C&B Auto Parts in Sanford, Florida, from 1986 to 1997. After moving to Warsaw in 2003, she worked in Emergency Registration at Kosciusko Community Hospital.
A devoted woman of faith, Bonnie attended church most of her life. Over the years, she served her church community by singing in the choir and volunteering with the AWANA program. In Warsaw, she enjoyed worshipping alongside her church family as a member of Leesburg Grace Brethren Church. She was also involved in the community, lending a hand to the Boy Scouts of America over the years. Bonnie dearly loved her family and will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Allan Combs of Live Oak, Florida; daughter, Tammy (Rick) Koontz of
Warsaw, Indiana; seven grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Susie (Charles) Hott of West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Cleo, son Ricky Combs, one granddaughter, brother Wesley Shanholtz and three sisters, Minnie Largent, Annabelle Clem, and Jo Cannon.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Leesburg Grace Brethren Church, 101 W. School Street, Leesburg, Indiana. Her funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the church and will be officiated by Pastor Tim Sprankle. Burial will take place at a later date at Forest Glen Cemetery in Green Spring, West Virginia. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road,
