Bonnie Parsons, 82, of Independence, MO passed away September 28, 2025 at North Kansas City Hospice House. She was born on December 24, 1942 in Kansas City. KS, the daughter of William John Cowan and Mary Evelyn Cowan (Murphy).

Bonnie graduated from Wyandotte High School, class of 1960. In her youth she enjoyed attending summer camp, going on trips to The Lake of the Ozarks with her parents and siblings, and watching high school theater productions. She married her first husband Leon Reddell in 1962; they were married for 14 years. They had 2 daughters, Marcia and Debbie. She cherished spending time with her daughters and watching them grow. She fondly remembers doing crafts with them and sewing wedding dresses for their Barbie dolls.

In 1988 she married her Husband of 25 years, Robert "Bob" Parsons of Alamogordo, New Mexico, where they lived until he passed in 2013. She enjoyed visiting Corpus Christi, TX with Bob. Sewing, jigsaw puzzles, and playing the keyboard were some of her favorite hobbies. Bonnie worked as a secretary for Farmland Industries and Blue Cross Blue Shield in Kansas City and as a secretary for a law firm in Alamogordo, NM until she retired.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her 6 siblings; Wayne, Bertie, Mary Lou, Alice, Johnny, and Sharon, and her husband Bob. Bonnie is survived by her daughters; Debra Miriani and her husband Andy Miriani of Overland Park, KS, daughter Marcia Burns of Liberty, MO, her stepdaughters Sarah Finley and Susan Alday, 6 Grand Children, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 Great-great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Highland Park Cemetery located at 4101 State Ave. Kansas City, KS. 66102 on Friday October 3, 2025 at 2pm.
