Bonnie Jean Fetzer was born in Pierre, SD on June 17, 1953. Bonnie grew up with three sisters: Judy, Rose, and June, and two brothers: Henry and Michael, in her family.

She attended grade school and high school in Pierre. After graduation Bonnie worked at Headstart in Pierre for several years because she loved working with children. She went on to Dakota State College in Madison, SD to earn her Teacher's Degree. After college Bonnie taught one year in Parkston. Then she came to Colome to teach kindergarten. Bonnie loved to get to know the little kids and watch how they grew up during those first fun years. She also taught various other positions--Title I Math, preschool, and after school, during her 29 plus year teaching career.

Bonnie married Jerald Fetzer on July 22, 1989 in Pierre, SD. She enjoyed her teaching and farm life.

Bonnie was baptized and confirmed in the Pierre Lutheran Church and later became a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Colome.

Because of her health when Bonnie needed more care, she moved to the Rosebud Care Center in Gregory, SD in October 2023 and resided there until the time of her death. She liked being able to go to church, hymnal singing, and Bible study. Bonnie was an avid fan of Danny O'Donnell and hardly every missed a show. She especially liked Bingo, but her favorite past time was putting jigsaw puzzles together. She was a master at it! The hummingbird puzzle was Bonnie's last puzzle finished in October.

Bonnie peacefully went to Heaven on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the Gregory Avera Hospital at the age of 72 years.

A special "thank you" to all her friends and workers at the Care Center for all the care, kindness, and love shown to Bonnie in her last two years.

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry Gramm and Betty Hippen, father-in-law and mother-in-law Marion and Dorothy Fetzer, and her brother Henry Gramm.

Bonnie is survived by her husband Jerald Fetzer of Colome, three sisters Judy Bitz and husband of Arizona, Rose Gramm of Sioux Falls, and June Frederick of Lennox, SD; one brother Mike Gramm and his wife of Oklahoma; three sisters-in-law: Caroline Peterson of Platte, Myrna Pechota of Winner, and Jeanette Miller of Colome; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families.

Funeral services for Bonnie Fetzer, age 72, of Colome, SD, will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church in Colome, SD. Burial to follow at the Colome City Cemetery.
