Bonnie Lee Shiffler

Bonnie Lee (Morell) Shiffler, 75, of South Windsor, beloved wife of Allan J. Shiffler, died peacefully on Wednesday December 31, 2025, at Alto Assisted Living in South Windsor. Bonnie was born in Stafford, CT, on November 2, 1950, daughter to the late Nelson H. and Gertrude G. (Perry) Morell. A graduate of East Windsor High School, she grew up in Broad Brook. Bonnie met and married the love of her life, Allan Shiffler, on November 21, 1971, and they began their life together in East Hartford. In November of 1975 they moved to South Windsor where they raised a family. Bonnie worked as a secretary and administrative assistant her whole career first with Traveler's Insurance, then Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for the VP of Marketing, and she ended her career as secretary to the Chief of Police in East Hartford. Bonnie was the biggest supporter at all her daughter's and grandchildren's activities and loved going to watch all their games. She loved to read and was passionate about long walks. She enjoyed online solitaire, word puzzles and cheering on the UConn Women's Basketball Team. Bonnie was a founding member and former president of the South Windsor Soccer Club. A kind, caring, loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, Nene, and friend to many, she will be dearly missed. Along with her husband of over 54 years, Allan, she leaves her three daughters, Lisa E. Smith and her husband Jeremy of Somers, Andrea J. O'Brien of Hamilton, NJ, and Carrie L. Heath and her husband Mike of Lee on the Solent, England; her sisters, Joy Boutin and her husband Norman of Broad Brook, and Heidi Bobianski of Springfield, MA; grandchildren whom she adored, Kaitlin Smith, Emma Smith, Ashlyn O'Brien, Leah O'Brien, Chloe O'Brien, Joshua Heath, and Luke Heath. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Marcia Binkley of Clarklake, MI. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 6th, from 4-7pm at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor.
