Boushal Celestin Balanganayi, 65, a resident of Lowell, passed away peacefully at Boston Medical Center in Boston on Sunday, July 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Brigitte Y. Matongo for 38 years.

He was born in Kananga, located in the Kasai-Central Province in the Democratic Republic of Congo on February 29, 1960 and was the son of Rebecca Malu Balanganayi and the late Albert Balanganayi Mpiana. He obtained his bachelor's degree in Industrial and Organizational psychology in 1986, at the University of Kisangani. He was a family oriented man, served God at St Mary's church in Lynn MA, and a true believer in Christ. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family any time he'd get the chance. He loved playing and watching soccer until the age of 44 when he departed from Kinshasa Congo to Boston MA, trying to provide better opportunities for his family in terms of education and lifestyle. He sacrificed his career back home as a tax inspector just for his family's success.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by Patricia Malu (first born daughter) who is married to Christian Boketsu, Flavie Mawuwa (2nd daughter) married to Filston Azima, and Emmanuel Balanganayi (son) married to Olga Nyange. He was a loving man and very optimistic.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 5-8 pm at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 10am at St Patrick Parish, 282 Suffolk St., LOWELL. KINDLY MEET AT THE CHURCH.
