He was born in Hazard, Kentucky on June 14th,1944 to John and Martha Combs. He graduated from MC Napier high school with his high school diploma. He met the strong and beautiful love of his life, Jeannette Combs, in 1980 and married her August 1st,1990.
Boyd was a jack of all trades and spent many years as a tow truck driver, auto mechanic and business owner of J.W. Fencing and Hauling. There wasn't a thing he couldn't fix. He was also an avid fisher, hunter and farmer.
Boyd is survived by wife Jeannette Combs, children Nick (Amy), Joshua, Anita (Joseph), Lola, Jennie, Melissa (Christopher), Sammi-Jo, 21 grandchildren, and 42 great grandchildren and many others who called him grandpa. He was brother to Sam and Myrtle, brother- in- law to Diane, Jim, Jennie, uncle to many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded by brothers Nick and Burton, cousin Shag, and best friend Dale Brown.
