Boyd Lee Sumpter, born on December 16, 1996, in Enid, Oklahoma, passed away unexpectedly on Monday evening, June 16, 2025, in Perry, Oklahoma. He was a cherished son, brother, and father, whose impact on the lives of those around him will be fondly remembered.
Boyd attended Perry Public School, where he made lasting memories along his educational journey. He was known for his great sense of humor and kindness, qualities that endeared him to many. Friends and family often spoke of his funny personality, which brought joy and laughter to those fortunate enough to be in his presence.
In his free time, Boyd engaged in various hobbies that expressed his adventurous spirit. He loved bow fishing, boating, and off-roading in his beloved jeep. Most importantly, he cherished the moments spent with his little boy, Maverick Sumpter, and his family. These were the golden hours of his life, where laughter and love flourished.
Boyd leaves behind his loving parents, Derrick and Jamie (Cook) Sumpter; his son, Maverick; his brother, Dalton Sumpter; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom will carry his memory forward. He is preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents, who surely welcomed him with open arms.
A viewing will be held in honor of Boyd at the Perry - Dighton Marler Funeral Home, located at 203 Fir St, Perry, OK 73077, on June 20, 2025. The viewing will begin at 12:00 PM and end at 8:00 PM, allowing friends and family to pay their respects and celebrate his life.
Boyd Lee Sumpter's legacy of humor, kindness, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
