Kinross- Bradford Stuart Allison was born two months early in Beverly Hills, California, on May 31, 1959, to Clyde & June Elaine (Buffington) Allison. His middle name came from the doctor who knew his mother had, had three miscarriages. Dr. Stuart assured June that he would save her baby boy and soon after Brad’s family moved to Hawaii. When he was 3 years old, Brad and his mother moved back to her hometown of Oskaloosa, Iowa. He was his mother’s world until her passing in 2015. His younger years were spent with his cousins having the best adventures in that town. His grandfather, Burdette Buffington, was a great influence during this time. Later a move was made to Rochester Iowa. Brad graduated from West Branch High School in 1977.
He married Kathleen Enz on October 1990. From that union came two adored children Andrew Allison and Morgan (Chris) Walbert. Brad explored many avenues in the workforce, from Heinz to Kum & Go. He took the most pride in his service to the University of Iowa Police Department. Once of his great achievements there was creating “Night Rides” for students to make it to their destinations. This legacy is still in operation today. Brad was an entrepreneur. He had and antique shop in Iowa City and established a home business Hillbilly Hotrods. He sold t-shirts world wide the Hillbilly Hotrod logo.
Brad married Angela (Dietze) Weber on June 7, 2012, she was smitten by his chivalry and charm. Together they established Strawbridge Art & Antiques in Sigourney before his retirement. Brad was an even tempered, good hearted man. He always found the silver lining. He loved and lived the best he could. His family was his pride and joy. Brad’s friends seemed infinite, throughout his life, he’s made a lot of them. He loved classic cars. Car shows were his happy place when he was away from his other happy place, home. Firing up his 1963 Cadillac Deville and the freedom of the road in an old car was fuel for his sweet soul.
Words on paper are insufficient when it came to describing a full life filled with adventures, extraordinary experiences and so much love. Brad’s stories will carry on through all of us. He’d want all of us to live our lives like he did; to it’s fullest. Brad died on Friday, June 13, 2025, in Parnell, Iowa, at the age of 66 years.
Preceding Brad in death are his parents and grandparents. Left to carry his legacy in their hears are his children Andrew and Morgan (Chris); his wife Angela; his bonus family, Annie (Zac) Schott and Alicia Brower (fiancé Nate Lowe); all their children Forrest, Bella, Mallory, Bryce & Maci; his dear mother-in-law Marcia Cox; his cousins; and his first wife Kathleen and her family.
