Bradley Paul "Brad" Benson, affectionately known as "Buford," age 61, passed away on August 15, 2025, after a brief illness. He was surrounded by love and family in his final moments.

Brad was born in Willmar, MN, and spent most of his childhood in Montevideo, MN. From an early age, he was known as a joyful, loving, kind-and occasionally mischievous-young boy. These qualities remained with him throughout his life.

Brad met the love of his life, Chandra Benson (Workman), and together they built a life in the Twin Cities metro area. Brad lovingly helped raise Chandra's sons, Wade and Brett Miller, embracing them as his own. He was a devoted father figure-patient, supportive, and a powerful role model. Brad also had a special bond with the family dogs, Dante and Mily, who brought him much joy.

Brad was a man of many passions and a heart full of love. On sunny days, you could often find him out on his motorcycle, riding with Chandra or alongside close friends. He cherished those friendships deeply, especially with his lifelong best friends, Randy "Beaver" Knutson and Mark "Barney" Peters. Whether he was watching his beloved Minnesota sports teams (always optimistic they'd find greatness), tackling a home project, or lending a helping hand, Brad's energy and warmth were unmistakable.

He had an infectious laugh, an easy smile for everyone he met, and a deep sense of justice and fairness grounded in his devout Catholic faith. Brad was also known for his strong work ethic, generosity, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved.

Brad is survived by his wife Chandra; sons Wade and Brett Miller; siblings Sherri Larson (Jeffery), Robert "Bob" Benson (Cindy), Lori Worthington (Todd), and Cathy Novak; and a large extended family of an aunt, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest "Pete" and Mary Benson (Hemaur); his brother, Todd Benson; his daughter, Jessica Cushman-Benson; and brother-in-law, Chuck Novak.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional caregivers at Fairview Ridges and Minnesota Oncology for their compassionate support.

A celebration of Brad's life will be announced at a later date.
