Bradley Maynard Howell, affectionately known as Brad, was born on January 24, 1984, in Saint Louis, Missouri. He passed away on April 22, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of bravery, dedication, and love for his family and community.
Brad dedicated nine years of his life to the Maryland Heights Fire Protection District, following in the footsteps of his father into the fire service. He also served in Pettis County Ambulance District, the Metro North Fire Protection District, and DePaul Hospital. Throughout his distinguished career, he demonstrated exceptional courage and commitment, earning numerous awards and recognitions, including the Missouri Medal for Bravery.
An alumnus of the Saint Louis County Fire Academy, Brad completed his paramedic degree at the University of Missouri - Columbia. Known for his intelligence, humor, and wit, he was regarded as a gentle caretaker with a profound empathy for others.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Brad had a deep love for music, particularly enjoying the sounds of Dave Matthews. He was a talented self-taught musician, skillfully playing both the guitar and drums. Brad cherished the moments spent gaming with friends and family and time on the golf course with his father, wife, daughter, and son-in-law, where laughter and camaraderie thrived.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Kimberly Howell; daughters, Hannah (Andrew Smith) Green, Alexis (Devon) Beck, and Mabrie Camille Howell; sons, John Carter Howell and Logan Beck-Howell; his parents, Maynard and Joy Howell; brother, Brian (Kristin) Howell; sisters, Katelyn (Josh) Pezzimenti and Jolie (Manasseh) Redden; mother-in-law, Melinda Huenefeld; brothers-in-law, Eric (Hollis) Huenefeld and Kyle (LaDonna) Huenefeld; maternal grandmother, JoElla Beegle; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Brad was most proud of his family. His love for his wife, Kim, was profound, and he found joy in his role as a father, often expressing that his five children were his entire world. He loved deeply and was deeply loved in return.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Claude and Camille Howell; maternal grandfathers, Joel Sells and Ted "Papaw T" Beegle; and father-in-law, Glen Huenefeld.
A visitation will be held on May 2, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at SunRise Church, located at 7116 Twin Chimneys Blvd, O'Fallon, MO 63368. The funeral service will take place on May 3, 2025, at 12:00 PM at SunRise Church, followed by a graveside service at Emmanuel UCC Cemetery in Marthasville, MO.
