Bradley Stanton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Inc. - Norfolk Chapel on Jun. 29, 2023.
Bradley Stanton, 68, passed away on June 21, 2023 on Summer Solstice. Bradley experienced a long battle against type 1 diabetes, and yet, he was always able to maintain a remarkable sense of humor about his health, and about life, in general. A native of Norfolk, VA, Bradley was the son of the late Arthur Stanton, and the late Frances Swersky Stanton.
Brad was truly a character. You knew when he was in the room; he was fearless in expressing himself. His laughter boomed, and we loved experiencing those joyful moments with him. He loved in his own way, unabashedly and fully. He is already so dearly missed.
Bradley was a member of Old Dominion AZA, a high school fraternity, and was admired by his peers for his adventurous spirit. He graduated from Virginia Wesleyan College with a Political Science degree. Brad worked for decades alongside his father and grandfather, serving the Tidewater area at Swift Garages, Inc. Brad was devoted to the Jewish Community Center, and took immense pride in his heritage.
Bradley is survived by his children, Alexander and Erica Stanton, his sister Patty Stanton, and his dear cousin, Gaylord Swersky. Brad was expecting his first grandchild in December 2023. He was over the moon about the upcoming birth of his granddaughter; he adoringly called her, "Peanut."
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made on Bradley's behalf to honor his first grandchild at babylist.com/list/peanut-fund or to the Jewish Community Center simonfamilyjcc.org/about-us/support-your-jcc/.
The dedicated email address, [email protected] was created by his children. We would love to receive your favorite stories, memories, and photos of Brad.
