Retired Chief Master Sergeant Bradley Stephen Truesdell (Brad), 58, of Clayton, NC, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 14, 2024, after bravely fighting Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). He was a devoted husband, loving father, and a beloved friend.
Brad was born on November 17, 1965, at West Point Military Academy in NY. He was raised in Santa Clara, California and graduated from Santa Clara High School and West Valley College where he earned his AA. Shortly after graduating he joined the United States Air Force. While enlisted, Brad's pursuit of education was paramount. His degrees included: Bachelor of Science degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Master of Science degree from Liberty University.
Brad dedicated 30 years of his life to the Air Force, retiring at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant, a testament to his loyalty and service. He was awarded many major awards and decorations due to his leadership and vision. Awards included: Lance P. Sijan Award Jr Enlisted, John Levitow Award, Lt Gen Leo Marquez Supervisor-Manager of the Year, SNCO of the Year, NCO of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year. Serving in the military afforded his family the opportunity to live in England, Germany, the Azores, California and North Carolina. Brad also had a one-year remote assignment in Cyprus which he loved for its beauty and adventures.
Post military, Brad earned the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification at Siemens Energy, where he was a transformer project manager. During his 7 years with Siemens, Brad was a well-respected, dynamic leader, who was an invaluable asset to the company and his team. Traveling brought Brad immense joy. Raising his kids in various locations around the world and exploring historic sites were part of his adventurous spirit. Whether a trip of a lifetime to Greece with his wife Kim, or Disneyland with his family, each trip provided countless cherished memories and stories.
From a young age, Brad loved sports! He was a natural leader and was chosen as starting quarterback in high school and West Valley College. Later in his life, while stationed in England, Brad took up the sport of rugby, where he earned a spot on the league All-Star Team. Rooting for his own children's sports, or cheering on his San Francisco 49ers or Tottenham Hotspurs, everyone who knew Brad could feel his love of the game.
A man of profound faith, Brad was an active member of every church he attended. He enjoyed singing in the church choir and leading several children's ministries. His spiritual life was the cornerstone of his existence, guiding him through his journey and inspiring those around him. Brad was a steadfast and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and soon to be grandpa.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Kimberly; his children, Taylor (Kelly), Jarred, and Tiffany (Trent) Chandler; his parents, Steve and Joy; brother, David; sister, Elizabeth (Skip) Wahl; and his many nephews and nieces. His family was the core of his world, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will be forever remembered.
Family will receive friends from 12-1 pm followed by a ceremony to honor his life held at Faith FWB Church, 1200 W Grantham St, Goldsboro, NC 27530, on September 14, 2024, at 1 pm. An additional ceremony will be held at Faith Community Church, 192 Bella Vista Rd, Vacaville, CA 95687, on November 22, 2024, at 12:00 pm. A private inurnment service with military honors will follow at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, CA. Brad was the love of our lives and he will be greatly missed.

I was stationed with Brad in Spangdahlem. He was a true gentleman who helped me understand what it meant to be sincere, to care about those around you and to be honorable. Brad had an infectious smile and was one of the most kind people I met during my time in the USAF. I wish Kimberly and the rest of his family the very best during this difficult time.
