Brady Max (Bud) Spivey, 51, Silver Lake, Kansas, went home to God Tuesday, August 19, 2025.
Brady grew up in Wamego and Topeka. Brady is survived by his mother Ellan Spivey, Silver Lake; father Roger Spivey, Florida; and two sisters Linda (Martin) Sibert, Alma; and Tasha Bailey, Silver Lake. Brady also left his nieces and nephews that he loved so much: Craig, Cory and Holley Sibert, Aaliyah Sutton, Braylen and Addilyn Spivey. He had several younger cousins who called him Uncle Bud who he could always make laugh. He connected with his father's family late in life and cherished every moment with them. Brady loved his dog Brownie and did everything for that dog. He spoiled his mom's dogs by keeping cookies for them at her house. They knew when cookie man walked in the door to guide him to their cookie cabinet. Brady was quite a jokester and would do anything for anyone at anytime. His favorite pastime was fishing, whether they were biting or not. He teased his mom for years for once buying fish sticks when he had catfish in the freezer. While living in Topeka, the upstairs apartment and stairs caught fire. He didn't wait for the fire department but caught the baby tossed to him and helped the parents down to safety. Knowing his mother's love for Abilene he bought a sidewalk board with their names on it so if anyone ever goes to Abilene be sure to look for it by the pavilion and think about what a great guy he was.
As long as someone is remembered they are never truly gone. Per Brady's request there will not be a formal service but a family gathering at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Ellan Spivey, 109 Beaubein Ave, Silver Lake, KS 66539 to be added to college funds for his youngest nieces and nephew in Silver Lake: Aaliyah Sutton, Braylen Spivey and Addilyn Spivey.

I just can't believe you're gone. Few people garnered my respect the way that this man did. He shaped me into a lot of who I am today. Condolences to his family and friends. Gonna miss you, buddy. Rest peacefully, my friend.
