It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Branden Scott Hutchinson.
Born to Colleen and Jeffrey Hutchinson, Branden grew up in Venice, Florida. He spent his youth traveling, boating, and camping with his family. He participated in many sports throughout his childhood including soccer, sailing, and pole vaulting.
After graduating from Cardinal Mooney High School in Sarasota, FL, Branden headed to the Northeast to attend Fitchburg State University where he earned a degree in business administration. It is there where he cemented his enjoyment of all things New England and met the love of his life, Kate Bradley. After marrying and establishing their home in Burlington, CT, the couple welcomed their daughter, Valerie.
Being Valerie's daddy was his greatest joy. He loved to share his passions with her and recently taught her how to hold a fishing rod. One of his other great passions was traveling the world and some of his most memorable trips were to Ireland, Thailand, and French Polynesia. Branden, Kate, and Valerie took countless trips including 17 nights on the water on Block Island last summer along with a month in Costa Rica.
He started and ran a construction business that operated throughout New England. He was a beloved member of the Westerly Yacht Club. No one was a stranger to Branden for very long. He created communities wherever he went. Branden had more adventure and happiness in his 39 years, than most people would be lucky to have in 80.
Along with his wife Kate and daughter Valerie, Branden leaves behind his parents, Jeff and Colleen, and sisters, Brittany (Berman) and Morgan (Arehart). He also leaves behind his in-laws, Kate's parents, Bob and Marion Bradley, and brother Patrick Bradley.
Arrangements – A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 11 am at St. Michaels Church, 25 Maple Ave., Beacon Falls. Friends are asked to meet directly at church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck is assisting with arrangements. A larger celebration, one more of Branden's style, will take place later in the summer. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to his daughter's college fund by clicking HERE. Checks can be made payable to Valerie Hutchinson.
